I'm starting this new thread to collect people's experiences with their 2.1 ipod touch jailbroken with the latest Quickpwn release. Specifically, what are people's experiences so far with:

    1. Crashes which require a reboot- how often?
    2. Safari crashes-how often and when?
    3. Contacts "lag"-- how long from the time that contacts load can you start scrolling them?
    4. General smoothness and responsiveness of Springboard-- opening and closing apps, etc.
    5. adding and/or updating App store apps-- speed.
    6. Syncing-- backup phase, syncing of contacts and calendar.

I know that everybody's ipod is configured a little differently, so comparisons can't be exact, but I would like to know if, in fact, the JB adversely affects performance.

    5. Super fast!
    6. Backups and syncs take less than a minute even if im syncing 100 of my apps.

My ipod touch seems to work fine when jailbroken apart from:

    - It takes 20 more seconds to load
    - My ipod touch froze when i was on the app flow app and then required a full restore because it just showed the itunes logo
    - The cydia app randomly froze and quit
    - My appstore app froze when i pressed install but for some reason the app still downloaded on my springboard

I have had no problems you mentioned above apart from the reboot but all the problems i said were very annoying. I decided to not jailbreak again when i had to do a restore but i will wait until the jailbreak becomes more stable like the older versions. There will also be more apps so it will be more worthwhile.

If anyone has the same problems please tell me!

I had a problem with mine, when listening to music, and putting it in standby the music would stop for a couple secs and did the same when coming out of standby.

Had you used non-JB 2.1 before this, without having these problems? Are they from the JB?

    I have the iPhone 3G.

    1. Crashes which require a reboot- how often? Often, 2 times a day.
    2. Safari crashes-how often and when? Very often.
    3. Contacts "lag"-- how long from the time that contacts load can you start scrolling them? .5 second, basically no difference from no JB.
    4. General smoothness and responsiveness of Springboard-- opening and closing apps, etc. - Pretty good
    5. adding and/or updating App store apps-- speed. - pretty fast
    6. Syncing-- backup phase, syncing of contacts and calendar. -pretty fast

I changed back to no JB and it's working better.

    3. No lag either
    4. VERY smooth
    5. Really quick, including backups - under a minute to add + sync
    6. See above

This thread is great news. I'm waiting for WinPwn 3.0 before going to 2.1 but I'm pretty excited.
