Whatever happened to the iPhone jvm port? I remember there was talk about it a year ago but nothing since. And I can't find anything in search but if the project did get canned for whatever reason, is there some sort of unofficial java port (for java ME at least)? Similar to what the PSP has.

If there isn't... looks like I'm going to have to learn Objective C which I don't feel like doing :| (or are there alternatives to using objective C??)

Are you looking to release your app on the app store? if so, you'll have to use Adobe cs5 or Objective-C

There are ports for Java and Python and php on the iphone...

    all in Cydia.

Python is what is the best - in my complete and total personal opinion, though.

It has full access to the iphone API's.

All programming languages are *essentially* the same. they all have if's, for loops, do while loops, etc.

So if you know java, all you have to learn is the logic and the syntax behind objc
