January Software Upgrade redownload??

    i recently contacted apple they said we no longer offer it and refunded my account. They said wait for 2.0

    Yes, but you are able to download the 1.1.3 with additional programs, for instance the file mentioned earlier in this post. Unfortunately, the location that ITunes looks for ipsx changes from XP to Vista, or I just don't know how to use these files to do the restore.

    i think it is still the same.:eek:
    Instructions:
    -download the ipsw from link above(to desktop)
    -Open up iTunes with ipod touch connected!
    -Go to the summary section on your touch
    -hold down shift and click "restore"
    -It takes you to another window.
    -From here go to the desktop and find the ipsw and click open.
    -it will upload and you are done!
    -Remember-50% chance it might not work (try it anyways, what do u have to lose)

    wait, does this mean that the January Upgrade apps are going to be free when you buy the App Store($9.99)
    or not?

    I'm sure that 2.0 will show up somewhere shortly after the upgrade. As far as using the ipsw file you indicated, no such luck. I ended up doing a jail break and was able to get all of the aps back without any problems.
