I had a previous jailbroken iPod, but I restored everything to a normal 1.1.1 iPod. When I synced the iPod to iTunes it starting upgrading to 1.1.3.

When everything was finished all the iPhone apps were installed on my iPod touch, I even have the cool wiggly icons! But I didn't pay for them! Why did this happen?

You don't have to pay for the 'wiggly icons'. You only pay for the APPLICATION update, to get Mail, Maps etc. on your ipod Touch.

Did you buy your iPod after the update date? Coz then iTunes would recognise it as new and give you them for free wouldnt it

Yes, I did purchase it after the update date. Is that why it gave me the software update for free?

Just out of curiosity... What makes APPLE think it's right, that people that buy iPod's after a certain date, should get the new apps, and all of us early adopters get screwed?

Agree with above poster. Why should we suffer for buying early helping apple to make the touch a success. We also paid more than the new release ipod touchs. They are on offer now at a cheaper price than I paid originally. It stinks like a bad apple.
