    Hi guys,

I'm after a bit of help - I dropped my iPod Touch (32GB 2nd Gen) yesterday (clumsy I know!), but I seem to have damaged the lock button on the top, and although the iPod Touch still functions perfectly - I can't press down the lock / power button anymore and lock the iPod Touch to save battery etc...

I'm not looking for some magical fix, but I was wondering whether if I took it to the nearest apple store (or sent it away) whether they would be able to fix it for a fee?

Thanks for that. I've just bought myself some opening tools via ebay for a couple of quid, so I'll let you know how I get on!

Out of curiosity - do you know if its possible to buy an OFFICIAL replacement metal casing?

You likely can... you can usually buy one from iFixIt, but they don't have any metal casings for the 2G, just the 1G right now.
