hello, I'm new to this forum and I have one simple question.

With a jailbroken iTouch, does one still get an iTunes receipt for apps downloaded via email? See, I use my Dad's iTunes account for purchasing apps, songs, etc. and I dont want him to think I am buying a ton of paid-for apps. I also want to avoid telling him that I jailbroke my iTouch b/c he might freak out or something

Anyway, the reason I am asking is because when I tested my jailbroken iTouch by downloading a free app via the app store, it still prompted me to type in the iTunes password (which I DO know btw).

Any help or insight into this predicament will be greatly appreciated

You need to type in the password for ANY application you download and you will also get an email receipt for anything from iTunes, paid or not.

You need to type the password if it costs money or not. Just tell him that the apps you downloaded were free.

Why? It says the price in the receipt. If it is free, it will say "Free" next to the app in the receipt.

ok, leme rephrase this: MY ITOUCH IS "JAILBROKEN"... which means that I can get apps for free now but I dont want an email receipt to be sent to my dad if it's jailbroken b/c my dad will still think I'm spending money!!!!!

Then change the email address to your email address. Or just tell him that sometimes you'll see free receipts.

Being jailbroken doesn't make apps in the appstore free. You get all your apps for free by pirating them. We don't support piracy here, so don't do it.

    ...

ok, you people obviously dont understand. Say I get an app that costs money, my itouch is jailbroken, so does my dad still get a receipt for that app even tho my itouch is jailbroken?

I completely understand what you're after. Jailbreaking doesn't change anything in your iTunes account (ie. getting receipts.) You will still pay for apps that cost money and you will still get a receipt saying how much you paid.
