My iPod Touch 2G 8Gig wont turn on or go into DFU mode. I think it's the battery because when I try to charge it it get's very hot. I would just send it into Apple but since it's Jailbroken I cant. Do you reccomend buying a new battery for it off ebay and replacing it?

You have to use a booter to turn it on. I wouldn't reccomend changing the battery yourself, restore the iPod and send it to apple when you can.

If the PC doesnt even recognize it as a Unknown USB thing then does that mean its Hardware problem? I know how to boot it up once it dies but now it wont even go into DFU mode so its impossible to reboot it.

if you know its charged, restart your computer and do try putting it in DFU mode again.
