Well my Ipod touch shutted down for lost of battery, and i have tethered version. The problem is that DFU mode doesnt work, it just keeps saying "USB device not recognized"

I tried everything, reinstalling, using another computer, the DFU seems to work for 5 seconds but then it says the same message, "USB device not recognized"

Can some one please tell me what to do, I tried pressing the home button and reconnecting, nothing. I tried every way to do DFU, 10-8 8-8 10-5 7-7 all of that, but it was the same, they worked 10% of the time for 5 seconds, so please help.

    Use the sounds of Windows:

Plug in the device, wait for the "in" sound.

Hold the home and sleep buttons until you hear the "out" sound.

Now, let go of the sleep button until the "in" sound plays

You should now be connected in DFU.

Since you're battery "shut down", I'm assuming it ran out of charge. So charging might not even be possible since it fails to be recognized by your computer.

Try charging from an Xbox360, HDTV(most have usb), or try a car charger. If/when you fix it, I recommend to jailbreak with redsn0w right away.

    I understand that.

Do you get any sort of sound when you plug it in?

Well just plug it in, and hold the power and home buttons and see if you do.
