I recently jailbroke my 2G iPod touch with redTool. It worked perfectly for the first day.

However, the Wi-Fi has begun to act strangely. It says I'm connected but...

    • Safari doesn't work. It always gives the error "Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost."
    • Facebook won't let me log in
    • AIM and Cydia work
    • After an App Store search, when you choose a result, it says "Cannot connect to store"
    • I have numeric battery installed, and when I go into Settings to check my Wi-Fi status, it has a 0 for the connection strength
    • My connection strength in the StatusBar shows 54
    • I have rebooted, resprung, and reset Wi-Fi multiple times to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Well if AIM works, it can't really be a WiFi issue, I'm guessing a bug happened during your installation of either the jailbreak, or the app, if you need to, re-jailbreak maybe? I don't really know man, that's all I can really suggest. Good luck.

I've already tried reinstalling Facebook. I really don't want to restore...

Apple needs to get working on this bug. I can't believe the wifi bug is still around...

It's so annoying walking around school seeing people with ipod touch 1st gens having internet right in front of me while I get the stupid error.
