Hi, This is my first post. I jailbroke my 16gb itouch with 1.1.4 and would like to upgrade it to 2.0 or 2.1 I guess. Can someone help me. I'm a noob at this. the only reason I want to upgrade is because I was told the video would work on my car stereo if I upgraded. Any help would be great. Thanks

Buy the update in iTunes. Plug in and hit update.

Now watch 6 people say the same thing.

hello and welcome to the forums.

to upgrade to 2.1 you will need to buy the file from itunes and get itunes 8, then upgrade normally.

So, It doesn't hurt to upgrade from a jailbroke touch to the bought 2.1. I'm not worried about it being broke anymore. You don't have to restore it or something before updating. Just don't want any problems when I do. Thanks

Yes, do a restore first and then an update and it will be safe.

I read somewhere that it's possible to simply upgrade without doing a restore. Do you know if this is true? I'm trying to do the same thing (upgrade from jailbroken 1.1.4), but it would be so much easier to not have to worry about transfering all my music and all that jazz, if possible.
..And I'm pretty much a noob too. Hee.

Ive been seeing some weird problems with the 1.1.4>>2.0, so be sure to restore and update.
