I jailbroke my iPod touch 2g using redsn0w 0.3 on Vista. When i tried to connect to a wireless router, it said it connected. But when i tried using safari, cydia, or any other internet using app. it said I wasn't connected. I tried restoring it to factory settings but I couldn't connect. Before jailbreaking, I could.

Did you go to Settings> WIFI and select a network before opening Safari?

Also try Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings

Does your router have a MAC filter enabled.

Go to settings and turn off your WIFI. Then go to settings> general> reset> reset network settings. Reboot and go to settings> WIFI and turn it on and instead of clicking on your router click other and type the name of your router in and click join.

did that, nothing changed. I logged into my router, no MAC filters, but my ipod had different IP and DNS and subnet mask settings, so I entered them in manually to my ipod.

This time it doesn't give me the not connected error but it times out.
