I know there are a million threads slightly like this one, I haven't searched through all of them, but I looked through a lot and couldn't find a satisfying answer, as in, any real answer, but after you jailbroke the ipod touch how do you restore it. And don't make fun of me for being a noob as I know I am. So, could someone please with as little ridicule as possible answer my question, as well as many others I will have to add to this one.

For restoring i always go into DFU mode & then SHIFT+CLICK the restore button, then select your firmware, and shoopdawoop!

READ : DFU mode is SLIGHTLY different in 3.0

i hope someone will post a guide how to do DFU mode, because i am going to sleep now.

    Good luck!!

Ok, I knew about DFU, but I don't know how to do it, I'm new to jailbreaking at all.

    DFU mode:
10 sec of holding the home and power button
release power and hold home for 30 sec
    done.

EDIT: sometimes DFU will work with just holding home for 10 sec. not 30. but just wait until your computer says its in DFU (windows).

Will this work with Vista as well, as that's what I have on my computer.
And what does it mean I have to have the restore file for iphone OS 3.0, is that just the regular file that I downloaded from itunes?
