Jailbreaking question

    I hope im not placing this in the wrong place, im new hi all.


    i currently do not own and ipod touch but i will be owning one soon, i will just like to know if you have to restore your ipod first before jailbreaking.

    And when its jailbroken do you have to restore to update the OS (firmware) ?

    you dont need to restore but it is reccomended

    A1: No I didn't. Its to much of a hassle. To have to delete everything jailbrake and the load everything back on. (Especially if you have allot of apps and songs.)

    A2: Yes. Say I'm going from 3.0 to 3.1.2 (and I actually did today). You would need to back up. Restore. Re-jailbrake. Upload content back to Touch.

    BTW. Dont use aptbackup. It screws up EVERYTHING.
