when i try to jailbreak my ipod touch with 3.1.2. firmware with blackrain, it passes the picture with the face on it, but it freezes up in the black screen. i have waited for 10 minutes to see if it will work, but no response after the black screen. i am using 2nd gen touch, i reformatted it and tried again and again for about 3 times, but no luck.. my ipod was bought after the septem.9 and it is a MC model.

it is not a 2nd Gen ipod touch, its a 3rd Gen. your jailbreak will be tethered and you will have to re-run blackra1n when your ipod turns off to boot it up and have your jailbreak.

The MC models (3g, 8gb) have the same hardware as the 2g iPod touches. The only change is that it's harder to jailbreak.

I'm almost certain that Blackra1n doesn't work on MC 8GB models...

Got a 8GB 3G iPod touch, now problems with jailbreaking, restore it and make sure you have the latest blackra1n, just download it again from blackra1n.com
