That's right, a press conference today in Washington (to make a long story short) made the act of jail breaking legal (and now less frowned upon haha)

The decision to allow the practice commonly known as "jailbreaking" is one of a handful of new exemptions from a federal law that prohibits the circumvention of technical measures that control access to copyrighted works. Every three years, the Library of Congress authorizes such exemptions to ensure that existing law does not prevent non-infringing use of copyrighted material.

Another exemption will allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.

People don't even need to go to the trouble of searching. When you start a new thread, it shows you a list of threads with similar titles (which people obviously ignore completely).

Anyway, this "new law" (which isn't new) doesn't change anything at all, really.

Its always been legal - it says so in the forum rules and its a well known fact, using it to steal apps is illegal. Old news.

Doesnt this mean though that a jailbreak could contain some of apples code without breaking the dmca?
