I can't use quickpwn to jailbreak my 2.2.1 ipod because you need to be able to turn off your ipod during the steps, and my ipod will NOT turn off. Can I downgrade to a lower version and then jailbreak? Or can I jailbreak another way, because my ipod won't turn off, less somebody can help me with that. I tried restoring already.

I used quickfreedom and it worked pretty easily.

Quickfreedom is only compatible with iPod touch 2G. Not 1G, but no matter what (I think) you have to turn your iPod off during Jailbreak.
