Its never going to hold. If that was illegal, then modifying consoles' OS would be illegal (Custom Firmware).

I think the only reason they want it to be illegal , is because they have no control over it.
    Typical Apple.

That or they want to protect their platform? Apple is just doing something big about it. Sony/Microsoft(Xbox)/Nintendo(Wii) could do the exact same thing.

Microsoft do to an extent. If they detect you using a modified 360 on xbox live, your gamertag is perma-ban hammered.

the fact that people can and will jailbreak their ipod/iphone brings them more business in device sales. but the ability to make/use/distribute apps without apple receiving any sort of payment is what they are likely against. If anything i think jailbreaking improves their platform because only the hackers/programmers with access to the systems are the ones who really understand how awesome these devices are. If it weren't for them we'd still only be taking Apple's word for it.

They can do that? How? The games don't have some sort of DRM on them do they?

Its not illegal. Unless the applications used to jailbreak contain apples code, copyrighted material then there is nothing illegal about it.

Quickpwn nor pwnagetool contain any code from apple. Its up to the user to obtain the code needed (firmware) and those to tools modify it, which is not illegal as long as its not redistributed.

If there is any truth to this I am never buying another apple product again. Next they will try to manipulate what you can and can not do with you MAC.

Your only banned if your using modified or pirated games on xbox live. Thats what I was told anyway.
