OK folks.....I need help. I have been trying to Jailbreak my 2G iTouch for a few days now. I am very tech saavy so I am unsure what I am doing wrong.

    Here's what I am running...

    Win Xp Pro SP3
    Itunes 8.1

I have restored my iTouch to the "original" firmware via Itunes.
I have the required 2.2.1 firmware on my desktop
I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled QuickFreedom 1.1.1 several times
libUSB is installed, working (tested), and recognizes my iTouch
QuickFreedom lets me create my custom formware and indicates that the iPod is in DFU mode (I do not get the white screen though)
When I click on the Pre-Jailbreak step it never completes.....it either hangs or reminds me that the iPod is in DFU mode and to start "Pre Jailbreak"

    Can anyone help????

Yeah, QuickFreedom caused a lot of problems, just keep trying, or like Dan said, try a different tool.

yeah, i would agree with Dan, that you should try something else. i have heard and seen videos of Unofficial redsn0w, and that looks very simple and I haven't heard any complaints.

QuickFreedom's Pre-Boot process has never worked for me.
I have used CyW00d's process (lol), and it worked perfectly.
Use CyW00d, and then restore with your custom FW.

Redtool is untethered, but if you don't trust it just use unofficial redsnow GUI, that works great as well, best of luck!

And if you really are that tech savvy, just send the commands manually. It's how I did it.

You're not successfully putting your ipod in DFU mode. It took me a few times also. Keep trying and you'll get it.
