    I have version 1.1.4 ipod and used ziphone.org to attempt to jailbreak my ipod. Yet it is stuck on these messages:

    Singleuser boot -- fsck not done
    Root device is mounted read-only

    If you want to make modifications to files
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    /sbin/mount - uw /

    If you wish to boot the system:
    exit

    :/ root# "

    when i disconnect my ipod from the computer other words appear:
    "appleS5l8900XIpodHAL::message
    I0IpodUSBDevice::gated_message cable removed, stopping stack"

    and when reconnect my ipod again other words appear:
    "AppleS5l8900XUSBWrangler::doCoreInit Hardware config: 0x00000264 0x7a8f60d0 0x082000e8 0x01f08024
    AppleS5l8900XUSBWrangler::doCoreInit waiting for core reset ...
    AppleS5l8900XUSBWrangler::doCoreInit waiting forAHB idle ...
    AppleS5l8900XUSBWrangler::doCoreInit core reset complete
    AppleS5l8900XIpodHAL::message
    I0IpodUSBDevice::gated_message cable is connected, starting stack
    I0IpodUSBDevice::start IpodStack can't start! Need configuration"

    Nothing can detect my ipod, if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I'm slightly freaking out that my ipod is broken.

    I tried using ziphone to restore or dring to DFU mode and recovery mode. The trouble is that my ipod can not be detected at all.

    Again any help would be amazing.
    Thanks.

    Force it into restore mode or go into DFU mode and restore it from there.

    How exactly do I forced it into restore mode or DFU mode? What I have tried is holding the home button and the hold button for a couple seconds which then goes to the apple logo screen. But when I do this the screen piles up text then returns to the same text that I posted about.

    plug it in, hold the home and power button until it turns off completely, then release the power button holding the home button for another 10-20 seconds until you hear it connet i tunes will say "Ipod detected in recovery mode you must restore before you can use it" from there you can restore to normal from itunes

    1. Hold Power Button and turn off device
    2. Wait 5 seconds
    3. Hold Power + Home Button For 10 seconds
    4. Let go of power button but keep pressing the home button for 10 seconds
    5. itunes will open and say "your ipod is in recovery mode and you need to restore"
    6. Restore your ipod

    I love you both. I got it in restore mode. Thank you so much! I was sorta kinda freaking out. But for real thank you so much. And I found out the top button isn't hold but the power button.

    Force it into DFU. When I tried to do it my first time, it I ended up not doing right. You might not have neither.

    Try it again. It DOES work.

    Sorry, still not working. I have followed the directions to a T. Wont work! The ipod will only turn off due to low battery because it wont even charge when hooked up. I have switched USB cables 3 times to make sure that wasnt the problem. I also have an 80GB ipod video and it works with that. So, I am at a loss!! I cant power it down to begin process correctly. When I hod down power and sleep buttons - nothing happens excpet the charge bolt appears, but its not charging up at all. Any other suggestions!! I have been trying this method for hours like 100 times. Not happening!
