    Hi all

I'm about th JB a friend's iPhone but it'll be done on my own PC (at work actually) so I cant sync his iPhone with iTunes as it'll erase all of his songs etc..

I've run "backup" and its backed up successfully.

    My questions are as follows:

1 - What does "backup" actually backup? - Is it all music, SMS etc etc?

2 - If I QP JB and then restore in iTunes will the iPhone be restored to a non-JB state? Or will the JB remain?

3 - Can anyone advise the best course of action?? Please??

I need to JB this phone but cant afford to lose any data

    Thanks in advance

    MD

    iPhone 3G (Black)
just use quickpwn at your office, it doesn't delete anything on his phone

    Thanks cacman 93

I've done a bit more research and come up with the same conclusion.

I've backed up his phone so if i get any problems i SHOULD be able to just restore it all.

Even if this removes the JB at least I have all items saved right?

    Cheers

    From Apple:

"Backup information includes information such as mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, certain network settings, and other preferences including settings and data from third-party applications purchased from the App Store."

Anything that can be resynced is not included in a backup (music, photos, videos, etc..) but most of the other important stuff is.

    Here's the link.

Like cacman93 mentioned the QuickPwn won't erase anything.

Just have him Sync his phone on his computer (that should also create a backup). Then you can JB his phone on your computer; just don't resync it to your iTunes.
