I have a iPhone 3G running 4.1 Jailbroken and I can't even switch it off because it turns back on again for some reason. I have lost my phone app and Cydia is messed up. I can't restore or Shift+Click Restore to 4.0. What do I do? Consider this a warning as well

Didn't you read to see what other people have said about it first? Someone else said the exact same thing happened to them. Good luck!

DFU your iPhone and restore in iTunes - this is a bug thats affecting your phone and your phone only, in otherwords you have installed or done something that you shouldn't.

Why cant you do a shift restore, try entering dfu mode(while your iphone is connected to the pc ) then when in dfu shift click restore, and select 4.0.

Also note that it was said way earlier that the current jailbreak would screw up your phone if you were pwnd for line

I can't put it into DFU mode. Whenever I try to turn it off it switches back on again.

I had the exact same problem and it isnt only your iPhone, Its because you've upgraded and cydia isnt compatible, at first my dfu didnt work at first either. You Must Downgrade.

Hold Power and Home button until it switches off.

Hold the home button and plug it in to your PC, iTunes will detect that it is in recovery and tell you that it needs to be restored in order for it to function properly.

You need to shift + click restore and navigate to your iOS 4.0.2, and it'll restore.

You want to drop it into recovery mode, and restore. As described by Rem0rse

All Jailbreaking has it´s risk. No matter which version. Apple will maybe figure it out how to close the system, that nobody can jailbreak it anylonger (like en embeded system which only can unlocked from Apple and only when update). Ooooh which terrible thought...
