Jailbreaking 3G

    im not sure im in the right section, but im trying to jailbreak my iphone 3G 3.0 with redsn0w. it doesnt finish setup it leaves it at DFU mode and doesnt jailbreak, what can i do? help? thanks..

    Restore it first, then run RedSn0w.

    Make sure it has the right ISPW selected or how ever you spell it

    RedSn0w will not unlock it for you, it will only jailbreak iphone 3g and ^ but will unlock iphone 2g.

    After you unlock it, search for UltraSn0w and follow those directions

    Should've been more specific. I already know how to do it with this same phone was not activated since there was no sim in it. I used redsn0w before and it worked. And did the repo and everything if was for a friend and he restored(not sure how or what) but he gave it back to me unactivated and I restored myself. And now when I run redsn0w with the right firmware file it just says waiting for reboot and the phone stays in DFU mode. What am I doing wrong?

    Did you click "Install Icy"? because that makes it crash on some Redsn0w versions
