They are ignoring the other jailbreak case, since this guy profits from jailbreaks so this could prove that profiting from jailbreaks is illegal as opposed to giving away free as the other case was.

There was a similar case recently in Germany (http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317869). The police investigates against four people that offered unlocking service for a charge. Thing is, they also look into the 600 private persons that used this paid unlocking service.

Probably better to stay away from paid offers to hack devices and do it all yourself. Also, do only help out those people you can trust with hackinmg their devices.

The authorities know how to over react and make a mountain out of a mole hill. Fact.

    lol, jailbreak is LEGAL Now!!!

I would sue the government (joking!) !!

Congress passed a law saying jailbreaking is legal on your device, so whats the difference if you have someone else do it or not?

EDIT: read the rest, it says he was doing it to get pirated materiel, so I understand that's illegal!

This guy charged people to jailbreak/hack their devices... Things like Jtags are probably illegal since they are used to use pirated software...

It is in no way illegal to charge for a service like this.
Jailbreaking and Unlocking both are legal to charge for the service, others I am not sure about since I don't care about them.

What he did is illegal. He made copies of games and sold them. That is illegal.
