How long will it take to figure out how to jailbreak this thing? I am getting mine in a week and I dont want to make any stupid mistakes that wont allow me to jailbreak. Some people are saying not to upgrade iTunes and you iPod...are they right?

when the 1st ipod touch came out, it took like over 2 months (september release) to jailbreak it...but that was because it was brand new

Now...i'd say over a month or so. i dunno though..ask the Dev team

The new iPod touch has new encryption keys, and it has been pointed out that it may take a while for a jailbreak method to come along.

The loophole used to jailbreak now is completely gone.

Never count hackers out of the picture. When the PSP 2000 came out, they had to think up of an entire new method to hack that (and they did, and will most likely have to do again with the PSP 3000). It won't happen overnight though. I say 1-2 months. Maybe longer...

Actually, it only took two weeks to hack the iPod Touch. They had the other "iphone" apps running on the Touch before Oct. 11, considering the Touch wasn't "officially" released until Sept. 27. It didn't take them that long considering it was a WHOLE NEW DEVICE. But they were working on the TIFF exploit at the time. The first automated Jailbreak came about 4 weeks after that.

iPod touch have 1st iPhone hardware (without few modules) that was already jailbroken, this is why it fast to do it... new one ihave new CPU that makes him different for iPhone. iPod touch is now newer iPhone platform then iPhone itself
