Sorry if this is the wrong forum as I am new here. Well I am trying to jailbreak my ipt 8gb Using:
    Windows xp sp3
3.1.3 firmware (my iPod is 4days old it came with it)
    Blackra1n (what else?...)
    Latest iTunes 9
When I hit 'make it rain' I get the 'entering recovery' message as well as the cable with iTunes. Screen but I never see the Geohot image. Instead blackra1n shows the window where it asks for donations and says 'done. Wait for reboot' but the reboot never happens. Meanwhile iTunes tells me tha an iPod is detected in recovery while my ipod's screen is black but with the backlight on. After minutes of waiting I have to turn the device off from it's button on top... Any help would be appreciated

    Solution

I had the same problem it is because you have upgraded your ipod to 3.1.3 and you can only jailbreak at 3.1.2 or lower I had to downgrade my ipod again but it's quite easy follow this video and he will tell you how to downgrade to 3.1.2 when I did it the download from his site was going to take 4 hours so i went on [PIRACY.tb].org and it took 15 min + 10 seconds of unpacking so i strongly recommend this here are the links.

Is it safe to downgrade or there is a chance to brick it? Is another version of blackra1n going to come out and if so, when? :S and last, is there another way to jailbraik safely a 3.1.3 except from blackrain?

    downgrading

it is perfectly safe to downgrade the only new release that came with 3.1.3 is that you cannot jailbreak you will be using apple's version of 3.1.2 so there is no piracy and you will be using itunes to downgrade

If you quote him you can get in just as much trouble as he does because the link shows up in your post.
