How much does the jailbreak slow down your device.

Ive got 8gb MC 3g ipod touch, and with 4.0 and its amazingly fast. Maybe thats because it only has about 10 free apps, but im suprised how fast. How much will the jailbreak slow it down?

It depends if you bog it down with backgrounded processes. I never notice a difference in speed from non-jailbroken to jailbroken. Having loads of things running with loads of mobile substrate addons going will slow it down. But if you just use the odd thing, it runs just as fasT

I am really surprised at how fast my non-jailbroken iPod is (after updragding to iOS4, after a long time being jailbroken), il remember not to run so much crap next time I jailbreak.

Jailbreaking doesn't slow your device down its the things you install that do. If you have a bunch of processes going, a snazzy theme and a few apps backgrounded it will be slow but if you don't install one thing it will perform the same as before.

I only plan on installing winterboard, wont have a theme just stick with backrounds, sb settings and a couple of tools not much.

-Also offtopic, when i was on 3.1.3 i changed the iPod writing to iPhone, after upgrading to 4.0 and no jailbreak, it still says iPhone, and my battery has a percentage, which i thought wasnt avalible on MC 8b models.

Things like that are stored in Backups, and if you update you won't lose them

Jailbreaking slows down my 2nd gen iPod Touch but that's only because I activated backgrounding.
