Ok, everyone knows the jailbreak is tethered and all that good stuff and blah blah blah. But if I have some jailbreak apps, like winterboard and bossprefs and stuff lke that. no cr***ed apps

. When I turn my ipod off, and then turn it on, and get that white screen. I have to re apply the patch, and does that mean i have to re apply all of my apps and configurations? or is the data still there regardless of whether its jailbroken.

Ill word it better if needed

Well, if you installed Cydia, installer and springboard, then yes, you would need to re-patch it and yes, the files will still be there because they were put into the hard drive of it. So all you need to do is reapply the patch and voila (I think)!

Damn, why does everyone beat me to it

ok. so glad. I figured as much. All the data is stored on the HDD and therefore i wouldnt haev to worry about it being messed up. Redsnow is a patch, and not a firmware.
Thanks guys. Glad i could have that cleared up

Yeah it's cool it works like that. A tethered redsn0w wouldn't be as bad as some think. However if you're out and you need to reboot, you're without an iPod.

Just a quick clarification question, by off, you guys mean off "off" right? Not just sleep mode. If so, what's the big deal with a tethered version? Who turns their iPod off anyways. ( I do realize this could be an extremely supid question l)
