Hey, I have an ipod touch 3G and I downloaded 3.1.3 like an idiot, which killed my jailbreak.

I know there is no jailbreak for this at the time. But is there any hope of one being released in the near future?

    Yes.

Also, 4.0 is already jailbroken and it's apparently a low level JB.

    Just be patient.

It isn't at the boot level so apple can essentially patch it out. 4.0 is actually boot level for all older devices and can not be patched by Apple.

The jailbrake's for the 3G touch and 3GS MC model are NOT low level so far and I believe the iPad. These devices are not pwned and a new exploit has to be found each time a firmware comes out until they find one at boot level.

    you're kinda contradicting yourself...
there are around 3 "public" jailbreak that are supposed to be release but not at the same time, 2 of them are userland jailbreak, which means, it can be patched within the next firmware update, the next one is at boot level, which cannot be patch not unless apple decided to update the bootrom again

None of the jailbreaks are bootrom jailbreaks, otherwise they would just release it now.

I don't think they would...they are waiting for the next gen iPhone to release so the BootROM exploit isn't patched in that device.

They have released them for the iPhone for the 4.0 beta 1, but they haven't found any for the 3GS MC model or 3G
