Jailbreak newbie help

    Hi all,

    First post so apologise for my incompetence!
    I have a 16gb 2nd gen Ipod touch just 1 day old
    Firmware in settings > about >shows 2.2.1

    I dont know alot about jailbreaking so would like ot know:

    1) can it be done on my ipod touch?
    2) if so, how?

    it can be done but from what ive seen around the forum it can be pretty difficult and if you search you can find a tutorial and try it out

    You can but I wouldn't even attempt to try until you have read and learned about what jailbreaking is and the complexities and problems with a 'tethered jailbreak' for the 2G...

    Yes it can but it is a tethered jailbreak meaning if you completely turn it off you have to reboot on the computer. It's not a haasel for me, I rarely have too. I suggest using cywood since your new to jailbreak

    You actually can, but its still not so good, as everytime you turn it completely off, for the jailbrake to stay you must connect it to a computer.
    if you're willing to do it still you better check the red jolt app for mac(if you have a mac) it makes it sooo much easier.
