Ok, so I may get an iPhone 3G in a few weeks.

I'm in a dilemma, I have an ipt2g jbed already, and I was wondering if I should jailbreak the iPhone 3GS or not? I know jailbreaking slows your device down a bit (noticed on my iPod when I restored/updated to 3.0). and since the stands, for speed, I'm not sure what to do.

I really want SBsettings and Winterboard, but idk.....I don't wanna slow it down.

    Any advice?

Might as well. You have the extra speed anyways, and jailbreaking it doesn't slow it down by much.

Just recently saw a post on here where a person showed their 3G showing SBSettings and they had like 128 MB RAM Free.

So I'm pretty sure jail breaking it won't hurt.

I've had 160mb of free RAM before. I don't think that jailbreaking it really slows it down noticeably.

By the time you get an iPhone 3GS, everything will be 100% with the 3GS as far as jailbreaking and application support. No worries.

Heh, this seems really crazy, but the Free Memory actually increased on average about 10% after jailbreaking. Currently at 134.27 MB average. Please note that the only background application I have downloaded is OpenSSH, therefore this may not be an accurate representation.

Yea I know, but I also know that winterboard can slow it down....maybe I'll just jailbreak it and get all the 'necessary' things (WB, SBsettings, MIM) and it won't slow it down as much. I guess I'll jb it, since it's got a lot of extra RAM anyways

there's no noticeable speed difference (without winterboard anyway) so might as well...
