I am planning on upgrading from the itouch to the 3g iphone and would like to jailbreak it. I have jailbroken my itouch (awhile ago) so I'm pretty sure i can jailbreak the iphone. My question is do i have to remove the SIM card before jailbreaking? Can the phone be activated (from AT&T) first before jailbreaking it? Thanks in advanced for your help and sorry if this is a dumb question.

Just run Quickpwn on your activate ATT phone and it will be done in a few minutes. I did two last week and it worked like a champ!

Almost forgot: be sure to update to 2.2 firmware before you jailbreak them. Most likely they will be on 2.1 firmware.

Yes, I got my two new 3G's, got home, plugged into my Mac, then updated to 2.2 firmware and ran Quickpwn. I didn't have to change any settings or anything, just hit the go button and it's done. Then I installed Winterboard and OpenSSH from Cydia.
