I followed the new "untethered" jailbreak tutorial, and after I put the ipod into restore mode, ran the "RUNME" I shift + click to restore with the new firmware an it gives me the 1604 error, so I dunno, I've read things about it, i've restarted 3 times, plugged it into a different usb port, same result.

I assume I have to run the "RUNME" everytime I put it into restore mode, an then try again?

I fail, haha. any help is greatly appreciated.

*update, when I go to restore the factory firmware, it works*, so hmm..

End any processes that have anything to do with Apple, iTunes, or iPod.

I've restored to factory settings twice, then performed every step to correctly jailbreak. In each situation so far, iTunes hangs at "Preparing iPod for restore" and my iPod's screen remains black. After a few minutes, I receive a 1604 error. Thought I'd post here as well.
