I've jailbroken my iPod Touch 2G, now I have about 1 gig of 'other', though don't have any applications or anything else, only music.
I used QuickFreedom to jailbreak, and it created a custom firmware usng which I restored for the jailbreak.
My question is, can I shift+restore using that firmware directly? I mean, no DFU and all.. I just want to format it to get rid of that, and I'll have to jailbreak it again if I do a plain iTunes restore.
So is it safe to shift + restore using that firmware directly, with just plugging in my ipod as it is.?

"Other" is on EVERY ipod so don't worry.

Yep! My iPod is 8GB, but I can only use like 6.9GB of it.

Try rejailbreaking with QuickPwn, you won't even lose anything
