Jailbreak 2g ipod touch by downgrading?

    If you downgrade to 1.x on a 2g ipod touch then use ziphone to jailbreak it it might just work!!!

    You can't downgrade the 2nd gen iPod touch to a lower firmware.

    I don't think you can even downgrade your firmware on the 2G (Unless something comes out and 2.1.1 is old), and Apple stopped different methods the Dev Team came up with for jailbreaking, so it won't work even if we were able to downgrade to 1.1.4 or some other version.

    Why would you want firmware 1.X jailbroken anyway?
    It wouldn't help in the long run.

    im new on the scene and have done some reading re:jailbreaking the 2g ipod and i dont think a downgrade will work as it has different chips in it (not the McCain sort

    ) and it wont have the security hole.

    Even if you could downgrade the firmware, the jailbreak process wouldn't work on the 2G iPod touch.

    well, theoretically, if you could get it to 1.1.1, and use the tiff exploit, it would work, because that is a software issue, not a hardware exploit
