JAILBREAKING 2.1 STILL ALLOWS YOU TO KEEP ALL YOUR MUSIC/VIDEO/CONTACTS/ETC. INTACT
SO FAR THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT WORKS ON WINDOWS...

FOR ALL THOSE WHO NEED THE MOBILEINSTALLATION FILE, GOOGLE iS YOUR FRIEND!

    * Before you do anything to the actual iPod, and if its jailbroken, go to /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework. Make a copy of the MobileInstallation file in there, on your desktop or something. OR download the mobileinstallation patch thing *[/center]

    - First of all you have to be on 2.1
    - Download these files http://[PIRACY.rs].com/files/144550778/QuickPwnRC3.zip.html Its quickpwn with some bundled extras. (All Credit goes to jfb392 for the bundle)
    - Once downloaded, extract the .zip files with a Archiver, you can use any. If you dont have one, search for WinRAR, and install it.
    - Run QuickPwn. Pick iPod Touch. Then when it asks you to browse for the IPSW (iPod Software) file, pick the 2.1 Firmware file, and then go next.
    - Once the QuickPwn Terminal process is done, the Pineapple, and then Spinning wheel should be up for a while, and it should reboot... dont worry its fine.
    - Now when your ipod reboots, installer and cydia wont be there!!! YET
    - Now you gotta download total commander and the t-pot plugin

    - Now on Total Commander, connect to the iPod and go to /System/Library/PrivateFrameWorks/MobileInstallation.framework
    - Back-up your original mobileinstallation by dragging it to the left side where the patched mobileinstallation isnt. (make a folder called backup or something)
    - Drag over the patched mobileinstallation file and overwrite
    - Reboot your ipod and you've got a "jailbroken" 2.1

TO GAIN ACCESS TO SSH SIMPLY INSTALL IT FROM CYDIA

    Credits...

jfb392 - For the Bundles... of course! You should thank HIM A LOT!!!
ZombieKiller - For finding out that the MobileInstalltion thing works...
Also, this wouldn't have been possible without planetbeing and #xpwn for making KBAG decryption easier.
Also, many... many thanks to the Dev Team on their great utility, and we would of never been able to do this with them!
jfb392, gets most of the credit of course! Good Work jfb392!
Me for fixing this thread up and making it neat. AND creating the image at the top

where can I download the 2.1 jail-broken firmware? (my touch is already on 2.1, but I need it for Quickpwn of course ;-)
Or can I use the official 2.1 firmware file?

You can use the original 2.1 firmware with quickpwn.
Although it says it's not compatable don't worry, it works fine

So, basically Total Commander works without wi-fi if we want to connect to iPod? Sorry, I never use it before 'cuz I always use non-wifi connection to iPod, though I have wi-fi at home. If it is so, the most first thing we need to is installing OpenSSH, after we place Cydia in iPod?

Great tuto, I was not expecting it to be jailbroken at least for the first week. And, you guys made it. Excellent.

Total Commander connects to iPod via USB. After replacing the file and rebooting the iPod touch you see Cydia/Installer and then you can install OpenSSH
