What does jailbraking your iPod touch do?

What are the pros and cons?

Is it hard to do and will it mess up my itouch?

First things first, you CANNOT "break" your iPod by jailbreaking it. However you will void your warrenty. But if you bring your iPod back to Apple just restore it and they will never know that you jailbroke your iPod.

Pros: Free applications, helps your iPod in every manner of the word.

Cons: Voids your warrenty, that's it though.

So overall I highly reccommend jailbreaking your iPod.

Allows you to install free user-created applications & lets you theme your ipod

It is not hard to do. You can't break your touch, and a restore will set it up back to how it was when you got it.

It all depends on what firmware you are running. Answer that and I can help you from there.

there are only pros to jailbraking, anything lost or messed up can be fixed thru a restore.
It basically turns it into a pocket sized computer, you can add copy / paste , flash ( not actual flash but it works), emulators and themes .
