Well first I like to say... awesome forum you guys have here!
    Now to my issue...

I just try to jail brake my iPod Touch running firmware 1.1.1 and touchfree application from the guide http://www.slovix.com/touchfree/ I ran the utility and it seems to do everything as explain but once I finish I still have no new icon instead I end up with a crashed iTouch.... I have try other serveral procedure including manual and they all fail to give me the icon... I did notice that on the manual jialbrake I saw that after the replacement of the fstab it asks to reboot once I reboot it then proceeds to try to write to the iTouch again and it fails it looks as the first stage never worked but it actually does because the tools show the steps in verbal mode.... Is the newer 1.1.1 iPod Touch fixed against this exploits? I just got mine about 2 weeks ago...

    TIA!

OK what new icon were you hopeing for? installer app. once you jailbreak the ipod you now need to install installer app manually and then install trip1pogostic ouot of installer app.

Not the touchfree. The touchfree adds everything for you.
Same withe manual jailbrake from msbasher. They all install the installer.app and patches the srpingboard.

Also they have the option to install ssh as well.

Just in case I am using Windows to do this.

    Thanks for your fast reply!

Start from scratch. Restore ipod. Go to website. run touchfree and do all the resets. Your just doing something wrong.

@MacDog, the "The office" avatar dude has made me view you using his persona, its always funny seeing you post, cos i always think "huh, what did he(the persona) say this time". It is hilarious but its in my head though lol.. just thought i should share.

Oh and for the problem, restore and try a different tool.
