My ipod software is at 2.0.1 and there is an update to 2.0.2 so my question was should i jailbreak it with the current software or update to 2.0.2 then jailbreak it?

Im only asking to keep it safe so i dont brick my ipod touch.

Also quick pwn seems like the best program to get the job done.

Quickpwn is good, but Winpwn 2.5 beta just came out with all the features of Winpwn... and more. More includes Quickpwn, so I recommend getting the best of both worlds by downloading the new Winpwn.

I'll be upgrading to 2.0.2 today, since 2.0 eventually got laggy and crash-y from all my applications. 2.0.2 offers a baseband upgrade, but unless you're on an iPhone, that won't apply to you.

I'd suggest getting the most recent update, and jailbreaking it. The updates Apple offer actually do help.

Ok, here's what to do. If this is too complicated I can just give you a .app folder to put in.

Go to C:\Program Files\winpwn\Bundles on your computer, and open the Installer.tar in an archive manager. Go into the folder called "Applications", and drag the Installer.app folder out to your desktop. Then, SSH into your iPod and put the .app folder in /Applications, and set permissions to 777.

By the way, you REALLY don't want Installer. It's really bad. You'll end up using Cydia 10x as much.

I know... I remember the first day I tried JBing my iPod... I was really scared, and really doubted the uses of Jailbreaking it...

I used ZiPhone... it worked OKAY, but ZiPhone made everything utterly laggy. Sucks.

I'm so happy I'm using WinPwn now ^^!! It's so much better.
