When your ipod is stolen and you have iWipe installed it must lookup a database on the internet when you connect it to WiFi every time..... When you type in your serial number on iwipe.com and you click WIPE....

The thief connects to wifi and iWipe format and wipe the ipod 4 ever.... even a restore must not be possible....

Then you can unban yourself with a special password and Unwipe it with a special program on your pc/mac.

Yes i know, it works using exchange..... saw it in the SDK keynote

its useful if you have personal info, and stuff you would rather no one see. but there is ultimately no way of getting it back, maybe the google maps wifi triangulation thing, then ithe ipod would send the exact location of the thief to your email??? its apossibility. great idea though. btw, i wonder if the remote wipe service on firm 2.0 will just be available for the iphone or ipod touch as well??
