I've spent the whole day in attempting to jailbreak 1.1.3. So far, I've only been partially successful. I ask for feedback and solutions.

I started off with a 1.1.2 jailbroken iPod.

First, I tried iJailbreak (http://ijailbreak.com/) after the program downloads the 1.1.3 firmware from Apple.com, it errors, "Cannot find file jailbreak113.zip" and continues "patching," although it seems to have done nothing.

I continued with my 1.1.2 jailbroken iPod

Then, I tried the Installer method for downloading and jailbreaking 1.1.3 file. My iPod worked after a reboot, but then crashed and became a normal 1.1.3 iPod.

I searched the internet for hours to downgrade

Last, I found a guide by TimurY (http://youtube.com/watch?v=IhvogdypF_A), which had been helpful, but I'm still stuck on a step. Here are the steps I've succeeded in:
-Downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 using Restore Mode and the 1.1.1 ipsw file.
    -Jailbreak 1.1.1 with jailbreakme.com's AppTapp
    -Install OkToPrep
-Use Pacifist to install iTunes 7.5 and rename my iTunes folder
-Restore (not upgrade) to 1.1.2 using iTunes 7.5 and the 1.1.2 ipsw file.

    Here is where I'm stuck
After restoring 1.1.2 using the Restore button (not Upgrade) in iTunes 7.5, I tried to use ConceitedSoftware's jailbreak.jar (http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html) to jailbreak 1.1.2, which worked last time. But this time it told me that I hid not have OkToPrep.

    Help? Anyone?

go to ijailbreak.com and it will do it all for you with not much work. Just follow the simple directions and it will be done and include all the apps.

I've been there. (Please read my post first.) It still doesn't work because it bugs itself after downloading the firmware. I've tried it multiple times and wasted multiple hours watching it download the firmware.

My problem is that I cannot Jailbreak it as 1.1.2 because the OkToPrep somehow got lost during the 1.1.2 restoration process.

    THERE IS YOUR PROBLEM...

You have to do an UPGRADE to 1.1.2.... If you do a Restore, you will remove the OKTOPREP.
I've had that problem a millions times, and then said to myself..
"Duh, you dummy, you did a restore of 1.1.2, not an upgrade"

FYI... At this point you have to do a RESTORE to 1.1.1 and start over.

    HERE YA GO...
If you want to save yourself ALOT of issues... follow these steps...

1.) Start from a fresh (empty) 1.1.1 Restore...
    1.b) Jailbreak 1.1.1
    1.c) Install Oktoprep

2.) Do an upgrade to 1.1.2
    2.b) Jailbreak 1.1.2

    3.) Update Installer to 3.0b10

4.) Install BSD Subsystems from Installer

5.) Perform a 1.1.3 Jailbreak in whatever form you want.

    6.) After JB'in 1.1.3 Install Boss tools from sleepers.net/iphonerepo

After that, you're on your own.

If you need any other help, there's many a thread on how to fix stuff.

for updatin from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 with oktoprep insted of hitting alt+restore (mac) shift+restore(windows) hit alt+update (mac) shift+update (windows)
you do not need bds subsystem for 1.1.1 t 1.1.2
