but now i have a serious question: what is preventing any type of cooked or custom roms to be installed on iphone/ipod touches? i know we cant, but after using android, and installing custom roms, i really wonder what is getting in the way of them on iphone. is it the installation process has to be signed by itunes?
and is anyone trying to get them to work? or have they been given up on?

im just curious, because apple users are missing out. BUT I AM NOT SLAMMING APPLE/ JAILBREAKERS, I LOVE IT AND YOU HAVE TONS OF BETTER APPS THEN ANDROID, but roms are pretty awesome.
    thanks

I think discussing roms is against the rules here ... Good to see you back.

jmwerkus is thinking of game roms. I'm pretty sure that firmware roms are legal though.
