I've (like it says in the title) just got myself a Macbook Pro, it's a year old and still on Tiger OS but I'm fine with that, works great & I've got no problems with it.

I'd like to know what software you recommend for it? Just some nice apps to use etc.. I know that there is a thread for apps but I'm very new to Mac's and i'm not sure what will work on it etc.. I wanted to get that Dock Library thing, which I downloaded but nothing happened when I opened it up.. not sure why.. possibly because it's called Leopard Docks and I need to be on Leopard? If someone could tell me that'd be nice

Thats why I wanted you to get Leopard LOL

Everything is so much easier in Leopard. You can also mod your dock easier.

Get: Adium, NetNewsWire, Webkit, Transmission, Skitch, LiteIcon, DockLibrary, FastIcns, AppCleaner, Handbrake, NicePlayer, VLC, DarWINE, VirtualBox, Colloquy.

    Btw, All those are Free.

If you want Shareware: VMWare Fusion, VisualHub, CandyBar,

Cheers I'll look into them. This Mac's not actually brand new, but it's in brand new condition, it's a year old and bought from eBay. It's very good! So don't knock it

The ONE problem I do have with it, well 2 actually, ones just the battery is drained quite quickly but I know why that is and I could probably buy a new battery anyway, but the other thing is, I'm on the internet, using WIFI and every so often the WIFI just cuts and goes off for like around 3-5 seconds, then comes back on and works, but it cuts and then I have to refresh the page etc but its not that big a deal I suppose. I dunno what it is, the WIFI Router is fine, it doesn't cut on my WinXP PC so I'm not sure what it is.. any ideas? or how it could be fixed?

Cheers again for the list :

Edit: You said get Dock Library, I have done but when I open it nothing happens.. any idea?
