    Help anybody?
I'm getting endless popups. I don't know where it could have came from.
McAfee and Adaware appear to both be completely useless. I tried using hijackthis with no results either.
Has anyone had this before, and does anyone know how to help rid me of this plague?

See the attached image for an example.

EDIT: I think it's a trojan, not a virus. But it's still annoying. I'd rather not reformat due to the mass of pictures on my computer and also due to the annoyance of re-syncing my iPod and reconfiguring iTunes.

Strange. I didn't find any of the mentioned exe files, and I don't have any extra processes running. I ran that spyware doctor program (which just ended up being a ploy for money >.>) and I used the information I could get from it to delete any registry entries/cookies/files that appeared malignant.

I am, however, still not free. I'll put up more info after a restart.

Clicking cancel means "yes" to the rogue software. Never click anything, fyi.

It's been a while since I've used Windows. I had many viruses, the came from now-where! Hence the reason I switched to mac.

I could suggest you tracking down the virus with AVG or House Call (TrendMircro) and manually remove it or disable it from your directory. C:\

Or it might be one of those stupid pop-ups that aim to destroy your PC. It's better to be safe, do a scan; if you find nothing it should be ok. Secondly you could get a better browser, install firefox and use adblocker and a script disabler which will disable dangerous scripts on websites.

Sorry its a lot of work, but hey, thats PC's for you... :S
