So I know this has been an issue in the past, and I haven't found anything recent on it. So I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 2g. I've had 0 problems with it, and suddenly today I go on iTunes to sync my music and it says that the contents of my iPod can't be read and that i need to restore. I haven't installed anything or done anything different with it since the last time I sync'ed sowhat's causing the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

Also I can't connect to WinSCP

At least you can restore, some people can't even get it to recognize it.

That's my last resort, I'd like to find a different way.

I can now connect to WinSCP after trying about 10 times and doing nothing different but iTunes is still messed up.

Try reinstalling iTunes. If you have another Operating System on another computer handy, try iTunes there. If that doesnt work...then I think you're out of luck and will need to restore. Have you tried using the wired way of SSHing into the touch?

I fixed it by resourcing to posts that people had with same problem about a year ago on 1.1.3. I saw them but thought nothing of them seeing as how I'm on 2.2.1, but after simply deleting iTunes_Controller or something of that sort on WinSCP I was able to restore from backup and everything from jailbreak remained the same.

Honestly, why does everyone say restore is so bad? I just timed myself and in about 10 minutes, I restored, re-jailbroke, and synced back all my files.

You could be done by now instead of sitting here waiting for answers.
And if you don't have your apps/music backed up on iTunes, the real problem lies right there.
