I have plenty of space, but I can't even add a song or a movie. I was just adding a movie two seconds ago and now it does nothing when I drag and drop.

Is your touch formatted for the machine that you are using.

Basically, plug your ipod in and hit restore in itunes.

Well, it does not hurt to do some troubleshooting, you have to start somewhere.

Itunes generally is flaky in Windows to begin with; so I also suggest reinstalling itunes.

I've had this problem with my 5G iPod. The solution was to perform a reset and resynchronize with iTunes.

Exactly, reinstalling itunes will not get rid of any of your music. Also, you should always have a backup of your information.
