They're real but you have to be realistic and expect that it's stolen goods.
Why else would someone sell something that's worth $50 for half that???
    So, buyer beware....

not necessarily - someone might have gotten it as a gift and they can't use it, or don't want it, so they are trying to sell it on ebay for $ instead. TBH if I got an itunes gift card I would probably do the same thing or regift it. The paid apps in the store are generally useless, and I have a huge collection of music and would never buy anything through itunes music store.

I can see that being a possibility, but still believe that 9 out of 10 times, it'll be hot.
I agree that I wouldn't purchase music through iTunes, but there are always apps that you can find of value to purchase, you just have to rummage through the garbage...

i think in canada your protected from piracy by the government. so that means you can't be taken to court or fined for stealing music, videos, or apps

On some chinese selling site, some guy is selling $100 cards for as low as $13 (currency converted), and he even seems to be legit with 395+ feedbacks...

They are legit cards...they just may not have been gotten legally...as in fall off the truck. Of course the dude is going to send them and make you happy with your $13 purchase and he/she is happy for offloading stolen merchandise...
Let's put it this way, you may get 1 iTunes gift card and have no use for it and then sell on eBay...you have hundreds, let's be realistic and know you didn't get that many for christmas...or your birthday, or whatever.
