itunes song problems!! plz help, pics too

    ok i have used the guide to getting music onto the computer from the ipod. i did the normal thing and when i put music into itunes it goes in and copies and there are all my songs. but about 300 are just 4 letter names and nothing else!!! what do i do plz help. i am desperate.

    here is what i did

    i used total commander and copied all my music to a folder on my desktop.

    all my music was in the folder called ipod(on my desktop) and it was in its 50 folders.

    i then opened itunes and clicked add folter to library

    then i selected the folder and pushed ok

    but if u scroll down a butt load of my library has no id3 info except for a 4 letter name.

    plz help me, i do not know what to do and i cant sync my ipod or i will lose all my tunes. thanks in advance

    They will become regular names after they load. It's just the way the iPod encrypts the files.

    EDIT: Hmm... are you connected to the internet? Go to Advanced, Get CD Track Names.

    When you import songs into iTunes, they are renamed (internally), and placed into iTunes' file system (containing a mess of folders).

    As far as I know, this is normal.

    But they don't have the names in iTunes either...

    before my hard drive crashed, i had all my songs with the id3 info filled in. now after my library is fully loaded, and i did the ^^^ check for cd info and it didnt work, it is still the same. how can i get my regular names back and correct?

    i tryed all the free windows programs on that thread u posted and they still had the 4 letter name in itunes. i might have to buy touchcopy for $20. does anyone have a keygen for touchcopy? thanks

    I can't help you, but I just wanted to say I found it amusing that you posted screnshots (in a good way) lol. Love the bit when you added that you played a game while it was loading.

    Sorry this was pretty much pointless hahaha
