Last night I tried to open iTunes on my PC and it said that it couldn't open as it couldn't "write to the file C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\en.lprog\musicstorebar.nib\classes.nib".

I thought this was your average PC glitch and after restarting the computer and getting the same result, decided today to reinstall iTunes. Now when I try to re-install it gets to about half progress before saying that it can't do anything for the same reason as before. When I go to the file and try and delete it, it says it can't because it is either broken or corrupt.

I haven't installed any new software in the past week except vista service pack 1 (I have used itunes over 10 times since then) and I haven't added any new music or content either.

any ideas on solving this? thanks in advance
