I got my 16gb touch a few weeks before christmas, and just realized something(yes I'm a bit unobservant)...
    iTunes thinks it's an 8gb!!!!
It says the capacity is 7.27 gb, and there couldn't possibly be that much system could there?
It's jailbroken, and 1.1.1 (I thought it was 1.1.2, but apparently I never upgraded)
Does anyone know what's going on?

nope, I have the most recent version. Also, I just upgraded to 1.1.4, and even before jailbreaking, it STILL said 7.27 GB. Is it possible they actually only stuck 8 gb of storage in there?

I would first try to restore it, not upgrade. But if you did restore, then you may have a problem.

Restore it, if it still has that problem, i would go to the store that you bought it from and shove that ipod in the guy that sold it to you ass.

well upgrading to 1.1.4 didn't fix anything. I'm in the process of backing my stuff up preceding a full restore. If this doesn't work, I'm going to be rather upset...

k, well I restored it and it's STILL 7.27gb capacity, so I'm heading out to the Apple store this weekend. I've even got my receipt in hand, and I'm really curious what they're going to do. I'm hoping for a refund or some such deal, but we'll certainly see...
