So I have another port aswell (about text boxes not working properly) but I have also noticed that iTunes can't pick up my iPhone and it wants me to restore it so it can retrieve the data. Anyone had this recently or in the past? Cheers

Are you on the newest version of iTunes? And are you jailbroken?

If your iphone is jailbroken, you have the latest version of itunes and the error you are getting is something like "itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone... restore"

    open terminal and run:

    rm -r /var/mobile/Media
or delete the content of folder var/mobile/Media

notice that you will lose All your music and data that you synced with itunes on your iphone but the apps should remain

"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone"

DON"T RESTORE!! Found an easier way! just download and install i-funbox http://i-funbox.com/ Connect your iPhone, Go and find “iTunesDB” using i-funbox and delete it, Open iTunes on your PC\Mac and Walla!!! You’re back to Syncing and no more Messages! Enjoy
